• About Chris

Chris was born and raised in NY. In 1991, Chris moved to Oregon to finish a bachaelor’s degree and to enjoy living in the beautiful Northwest. Although both his Mother and Grandmother practiced yoga, it was here in Oregon that Chris discovered yoga for himself. It gave him a sense of home that was far superior than any physical place of being. He continued with his practice regularly and in 1996 he began teaching at Breitenbush Hot Springs Healing Retreat Center. As a yoga instructor Chris learned from his students and deepened his studies with a wide variety of teachers most significantly, John Friend in the Anusara Yoga style. Chris has gone on to teach workshops both in Oregon and Minnesota. Since meeting John Friend in 1998, Chris has been a dedicated student and teacher of Anusara yoga. Chris is currently in the process of becoming Anusara certified. He bows to his teachers, his students and the revelations of being the best teacher he can be.

Chris’ practice of yoga deepened his awareness of the body and guided Chris to the healing arts field. In 1999 he began his studies at Oregon School of Massage. His focus in school was Thai Massage and Deep Tissue massage. Since finishing the massage program at OSM Chris continued his studies in bodywork and has over 500 hours of training in Thai massage. In 2004 Chris moved to St. Paul, Minnesota. Since then, Chris has embarked on two extensive trips to Thailand and Loas in 2006 and 2008, where he deepened his skills and love for Thai Massage.

Chris is a nationally certified massage practitioner and is the owner of Big River BodyWorks. He warmly invites you to visit his office at 1240 Thomas Ave in the Midway neighborhood of St. Paul.
